Betfred - Calzaghe to Knock-Out Bookies |

Bookmakers Betfred make Joe Calzaghe the 4-1 favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing and fear he could be a knock-out blow for the bookies.
The undefeated former super-middleweight champion is paired with professional Kristiana Rihanof and has been well supported and cut from 6/1 to 4/1 to win the series.
Betfred spokesman Mark Pearson,
“Calzaghe used to show nifty foot work in the ring and punters clearly think he can transfer this to the dance floor. All the money is for the undefeated champ and we’ll be well and truly on the ropes if Calzaghe wins.”
Hoping to avoid the knock-out blow Betfred have also priced up some Calzaghe specials. The Welshman is 11/4 to win Week 1 on points or 40/1 to fall over in the first week and hit the canvas!
So far the other sports stars have not been supported in the betting with long jumper Jade Johnson at 9/1, former cricketer Phil Tufnell at 16/1 and disgraced tennis Grand Slam winner Martina Hingis at 14/1.
Former jump jockey and Grand National winner Richard Dunwoody is priced as a 20/1 outsider but will be popular amongst horse-racing fans.
Away from the world of sport it’s your usual mix of soap stars and presenters with Crimewatch’s Rav Wilding at 13/2 and Hollyoaks Ricky Whittle second favourite at 11/2 vying for the female vote, while ex-footballers’ Wives stars Laila Rouass and Zoe Lucker will this time battle it out on the dancefloor.
Towards the bottom of the betting Betfred have Jo Wood, estranged wife of Rolling Stone Ronnie at 50/1, Ex-Oxo mum Lynda Bellingham at 50/1 and after seeing Ricky Groves dancing for years in the Queen Vic he’s at 40/1.
