Just a 'fun' bet this one.
Paddy Power have priced up a range of specials to coincide with 'Arthurs Day'
Arthur Guiness was an Irish brewer and the founder of the Guinness brewery business and family.
To mark 250th anniversary of the signing of the 9,000 year lease at St. James's Gate brewery Guinness is holding a year-long global celebration, focused on the 24 September 2009, to be known as Arthur’s Day. Arthur’s Day will be a global celebration, which will see a series of events take place around the world.
About 275,000 pints of the black stuff are estimated to be sold in Dublin that day. That equates to only about 3 barrels per Dublin pub. I think therefore their price of 5/2 on Less Than 10 Dublin Pubs Selling Out of Guinness looks big. Also the figures may be inflated by Guiness Marketing and PR.
Being realistic, the amount of money you will be able to bet on this will be extremely small, therefore I have only put the bet up to 1/4pt stake. Cheers!
Bet: 0.25pts How many Dublin pubs will run out of Guinness? Less than 10 @ 5/2 (Paddy Power)
